Michael's parents, Mike Borja San Nicolas and Evangeline Quitugua, were long-time educators at the GDOE. Michael's grandparents were former Speaker of the Guam Legislature Franklin J. Arceo Quitugua and Julia Siguenza Quitugua; as well as former Guam Congress Representative Enrique Santos San Nicolas and Francesca Borja San Nicolas. Michael's wife, Kathryn, serves as an assistant principal at Astumbo Middle School.
Before serving as a Senator in the current Guam Legislature, Michael was best known for his role as the Assistant Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor for Bank of Guam's BG Wealth Management Services team. Michael in the past also served as an educator at Simon Sanchez High School; a manager at Mandara Spa as well as Guam Home Center; and as the Chief of Staff to former Senator Carmen Fernandez.
Michael serves as the current Chairman for the Committee on Finance & Taxation, General Government Operations and Youth Development.
Michael was born on January 30, 1981. He attended Father Dueñas Memorial High School, John F. Kennedy High School, and Southern High School. He graduated from the latter in 1998. In 2004, Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Guam. Michael also happens to have a Wikipedia article.
